Lusia's Lagoon Chalets is located on the beautiful island of Savaii in the village of Salelologa. Salelologa is the starting point for all visitors to Savaii as you can arrive by plane or ferry (See below for detailed instructions on how to plan your travel to Savaii once you arrive in Samoa). However you decide to come to Lusia's we can assure you that it is not like anywhere else in Samoa. Our resort is nestled in a pristine rainforest overlooking the crystal clear Salelologa Harbor. In the distance lies the islands of Apolima, Manono and Upolu.
We are within short walking distance of the Salelologa Marketplace, where you can find fresh local fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, Samoan-made handicrafts and the ever so famous keke pua'a (pork buns). From the Market you can catch a bus, taxi or a lift if your lucky, to the other side of town where you can find banks, a public library, small shops and lots of locals looking to find out where you've come from. Savaiian people are known for being very friendly, so don't be surprised if someone invites you in for a cup of tea.
Salelologa is a great base for exploring the rest of Savaii. From our one and only stop light you can either go left towards Waterfalls, Surf Spots, Blowholes, Crater Hikes and hundreds of Sea Arches, or take a right and observe the beautifully well kept villages of Fa'asaleleaga on your way to the Beach Fale destinations of Lano or Manase while viewing the larger than life Saleaula Lava Fields. All of the attraction sites are well within an hour's drive from Lusia's Lagoon Chalets. We suggest exploring the island in two seperate days as there's too much to see in just one.
